Join us as we welcome : Michelle Forbes The journey of Michelle “M9dBodiSol' Forbes, a contemporary poetess humbly started at the place Where Pen Meets Paper , inside the overactive imagination of a small girl, who discovered a genuine love of words in the creatively illustrated words of Dr. Sues books, and the playful rhyme schemes of Shel Silverstein. Born as the youngest daughter of four siblings, Michelle was also mesmerized by the enigmatic words of Khalil Gibran as her father, David Forbes read aloud verses from his work, giving her much food for thought, fostering the genesis an introspective style she would later study and incorporate into her own poetry. Michelle was encouraged greatly by her mother, Lucille Forbes, and was mentored privately by her aunt, Dorothy Rice, who challenged her to study, practice, and to understand poetry in its literary capacity. As Michelle matured, she began to fall in love with the stylings of celebrated poets Maya Angelou, and Nikki Giovanni as she whispered in her own journal, believing that her work was nothing more than the etchings of a novice, scribbled in between the margins of her own private world. As fate would have it, Social networking proved to become like gasoline under her feet as Nyla Alisa encouraged her to call in to an online Radio show and share her words with the world. Touched to be asked to give her written work a voice, she humbly obliged and was soon after featured on love, Life, and Pain, Moments of Chaos, Inner Child radio, and TalkToCity.com. As a matter of fact, her detailed written artistry and passionate delivery led to a courtship of Poohmafella Records where she was mentored by Rene Reyes, then International Poet Laureate.
